Number 621 of 1100 copies signed by Stephen King. The book contains these stories: 'Autopsy Room Four', 'Blind Willie', 'L.T.'s Theory Of Pets', 'Luckey Quarter', 'Lunch at the Gotham Cafe' and 'The Man in the Black Suit'. This is the only edition of this book. King went in the opposite direction from all the lavishly produced limited editions put out by other publishers by having this book issued in self-wraps (a deep brownish-mauvish-purplish dustjacket attached at the spine over plain off-white card stock covers), with his name and the book's title printed in simple white lettering on the front panel and the spine. Because there were so few issued and because it is a softcover book instead of a hardcover, with the text and the covers the same size, it is unusual to find a copy in excellent condition. Mint. £645

"Stephen King's "Creepshow" is a 1982 anthology horror movie directed by George A. Romero (of "Night of the Living Dead" & "Dawn of the Dead" fame), and written by Stephen King ("The Shining", "Misery", "The Stand"). It consists of five short "Jolting Tales of Horror": "Father's Day", "The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill", "Something to Tide You Over", "The Crate" and "They're Creeping Up On You!". Two of these stories, "The Crate" and "The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill" (originally titled "Weeds") were adapted from previously published Stephen King short horror tales, while the other stories were written especially for the film. These stories are tied together by animated segments and the plight of a young boy (played by Stephen King's own son, Joe King) who is a dedicated fan of a fictitious comic book titled "Creepshow", which his stern and even borderline abusive father disapproves of. The film is a homage to the EC Comics of the 1950s such as "Tales from the Crypt", "The Vault of Horror" & "The Haunt of Fear", and is widely considered the best horror anthology movie of all time according to the vast majority of horror fans.” Fine in wraps as issued. £42
